3!

Today Gideon turned 3!  I can hardly believe it.  We got him his favorite blueberry donut holes for breakfast and then let him blow out the candle as many times as he likes because we know how to party.  He got to unwrap one of his birthday presents today (a robot, always a robot) but we will save the rest for his party on Saturday.

After breakfast Giddy went over to GG's house so I could clean for the party and apparently reminisce while looking at pictures of my once tiny baby.  I mean come on, look at this teeny thing

First Big Boy Haircut

Now Daddy and Gideon have the same stylist, which makes sense because they also have the same hair.

Paper Gown

Gideon got to wear a paper gown for the first time at his annual check-up today and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

 
He is 3 feet 2 inches, 37 pounds, and practically perfect in every way.

Buddies

Took these two buddies for a walk today.  They snuggled up under blankets and even shared a snack.

Chloe seems to be entering her last days, I am sad for me but even more sad for poor Gideon who is so attached to her lately.

As usual kids and dogs know exactly how to break our hearts.

Hide and Seek

Heard over the monitor while my guys play hide and seek upstairs 

Mac:  You can't hide right there because I will find you really fast.
Mac (closes eyes to count but peeks):  1...2..3... are you still standing right there? ...4...5...6... you have to go hide and then I will find you...7...8...9... Gideon go hide....AND 10, ready or not here I come... and I found you.

The Hard Life

Toddler life is hard.  Sitting in your favorite chair, wrapped in your favorite blanket, eating your favorite snack, and laughing at your favorite cartoons can be a burden, but somebody's gotta do it.

Baby it's COLD outside

We had to go out today because the house was all out of food, otherwise we would have stayed in with the heat on blast.  The first place we hit was the grocery store, and since I am a caffeine addict these days I cracked open a Dr. Pepper for the less than 5 minute car ride from our house to Kroger.  I left the DP in the car and when we got back 45 minutes-ish later it was frozen.

Gideon has pretty much decided he is potty trained now, which makes trips out of the house much more exciting/anxiety filled.  Yay!  But in all seriousness I am proud of this kid.  He likes to let everyone know he is a big boy and he can do it, he doesn't need mommy.  It actually makes me feel really proud right alongside really depressed when he says that.  And it doesn't hurt that he still needs me for snuggletime.  

Sad Panda

I didnt take any pictures today, not a single one.  No pictures anywhere.  And guess what?  Today still happened.  I actually got a really scary migraine today, did not enjoy that, but it's over now.

We asked Gideon what kind of birthday party he would like to h ave this year and the conclusion we all came to was Mike the Knight.  I like Mike, he does it right!  For those without toddlers, "Be a knight and do it right!" is Mike's mantra of sorts.  If only he managed to do it right in the first place instead of always doing it wrong and then having to go back and fix it.  But I guess watching a kid in a knight's helm doing his chores and stuff wouldn't be much of a show.  Actually a more entertaining show would be if he used his dragon friends for better things than baking pies and carrying his bag.

Look who hasn't updated since August!  This girl!  Don't worry, my plan is to go back and do 4 posts a day everyday until I am caught up.  Starting tomorrow of course.  Eventually this post will not make sense.  Perfect!

I have a few friends who are participating in photo 365 challenges which I think is great, I love seeing that one picture of the day that sums it up without having to go into too much detail.  I also love scrolling through and seeing how some days may have been better than others.  Of course I know myself too well to think I could possibly keep something like that up for 365 days but why not give it a go and see how far I can get?  I mean I am going to be here playing catch up anyway, may as well throw in a daily pic too.
