Be a Knight and do your birthday Right!

Gideon's birthday party was pretty crazy awesome this year.  With it being cold and flu season we had fully expected that many people wouldn't be able to make it but we were pleasantly surprised that we got to spend the day with most of our family and friends.  Gideon is really into Mike the Knight so the party theme was knights!  When the kids entered they had to pull a sword from the stone, put on their knight tunic (proof that I can use my sewing machine), decorate their shield, and then head over to the castle to play like a little crazy person.

 
We also set out Mike the Knight coloring pages and crayons for the kids, but they were actually more popular with the adults.  (when I was cleaning up after the party I found many masterpieces that could only have been created by adult hands)

My favorite part was the photo booth we set up so families and friends could take silly pictures together.

After playtime came lunch,

presents,

and blueberry lemon cupcakes!

It was a full day that left all three of us exhausted and feeling very lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives who love our son almost as much as we do!

Today Gideon turned 3!  I can hardly believe it.  We got him his favorite blueberry donut holes for breakfast and then let him blow out the candle as many times as he likes because we know how to party.  He got to unwrap one of his birthday presents today (a robot, always a robot) but we will save the rest for his party on Saturday.

After breakfast Giddy went over to GG's house so I could clean for the party and apparently reminisce while looking at pictures of my once tiny baby.  I mean come on, look at this teeny thing

And this will blow your mind.  If he ever grows out of that birthday crown I will probably die from crying.

First Big Boy Haircut

Now Daddy and Gideon have the same stylist, which makes sense because they also have the same hair.

Paper Gown

Gideon got to wear a paper gown for the first time at his annual check-up today and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

 
He is 3 feet 2 inches, 37 pounds, and practically perfect in every way.

Buddies

Took these two buddies for a walk today.  They snuggled up under blankets and even shared a snack.

Chloe seems to be entering her last days, I am sad for me but even more sad for poor Gideon who is so attached to her lately.

As usual kids and dogs know exactly how to break our hearts.

Hide and Seek

Heard over the monitor while my guys play hide and seek upstairs 

Mac:  You can't hide right there because I will find you really fast.
Mac (closes eyes to count but peeks):  1...2..3... are you still standing right there? ...4...5...6... you have to go hide and then I will find you...7...8...9... Gideon go hide....AND 10, ready or not here I come... and I found you.
