Mama and the daddy man could not be happier to have you here or more proud of you accomplishments (even if you do spit all over me)!

Giddy-berries
The Gitterbug is really enjoying his rice and oat cereals. So much so that I am beginning to wonder if we should move on to something else, apples perhaps?
Here he is after almost 7 days of eating with a spoon and as you can see, he digs it.
Last week Gideon discovered his bottom lip and has since decided that he should suck on it whenever possible. Last night he discovered his tongue, and it is totally adorable. Today he is working on blowing raspberries, so far we have only been able to achieve Giddy-berries.
Time to start the laundry!

Solids!
And we aren't talkin' colors. Tonite we tried rice cereal for the first time. At first he was sort of hesitant and then he was.. well... sort of hesitant. At least he kept it all down! See for yourself below:

Father's Days
Father's Day this year was a really special one and I am happy to report that it was a success! Sunday morning, after getting Gideon fed, changed, and back down for a nap, I went to Shipley's and got Mac's favorite jalapeno sausage and cheese kolaches. Gideon and I woke up the daddy-man and we all went downstairs for breakfast and presents. Mac received a Merkur HD razor, 23 different blades to try, a badger tail brush, and a variety of Colonel Conk's shave soaps. Mac has been having to shave almost everyday in order to avoid Gideon's ire (he hates stubble) and hopefully the new shaving materials will help keep his skin happy.
That evening we met Dad and Debbie at Uncle Buck's (next to the Bass Pro Shop of course) for a DELICIOUS and very relaxing dinner. Unfortunately the stepping stone "Gideon" made for Dad wasn't done curing (darn cement) but he was very impressed by the pictures and seemed to enjoy the company :)
Mac's Dad came over Monday evening for pizza and watching the Rangers game. He and Gideon had a ball playing but Gideon totally exhausted himself and was asleep before 7:15. Luckily he stayed awake long enough to see Grandpa JJ open the mug "Gideon" made for him (i.e. we traced his hands and baked).
So all in all not a bad first Father's Day, I am looking forward to next year when Gideon will be a little more aware (I am also sad that my baby is getting older).

Traveling
Last Thursday Gideon and I drove out to lake Palestine by Tyler to visit Dad, Debbie, Brett, Nicole, Aunt Chris, Uncle Paul, Cousin Ashley, and Cousin Taylor. I love it when people get to meet Gideon for the first time because they inevitably fall in love with his sweet little face. For his part Gideon was a little trooper, taking naps and sleeping through the night in his pack-n-play; he made his mama very proud. I got to have a nice long talk with Aunt Chris, catch up with Ashley (who always amazes me with her fantastic self confidence and drive to complete her goals), relax with dad, Debbie, Brett and Nicole, and of course eat Nicole's amazing Tiramasu cake (ridiculous). I am really glad I made the trip out there. Here is a video of Aunt Chris giving Gideon the giggles with her Yogi Bear impression.

Food is funny...
The pediatrician told us to wait on introducing solids until Gideon took an interest in watching us eat. Until tonite he was totally oblivious but I am not sure this counts. Mac was holding Giddy on his lap while I finished eating dinner (beans). It took us both a little while to realize what he was laughing about. Apparently food is funny.

A Happy Sickie
Gideon recently caught my nasty cold but the phlegm, sleepless nights, and discomfort can't keep this happy little guy down.
Here he is relaxing on the couch:
and here he is laughing at my silly finger dancing:
(Sorry it's so shaky, I was both the cameraman and the entertainment. His laugh is really the best part anyway.)
Okay I am off to plug in the vaporizer and snuggle my boy.
