When we found out that Gideon has reflux I went out and bought a foam wedge for his crib. It was inexpensive and easy to use, you just put it under the sheet so that he sleeps at an incline so as to reduce reflux symptoms. Gideon never really was in agreement with this decision. He immediately decided that the wedge was really there to help him shimmy sideways in the bed. Since the darn thing makes changing the crib sheets nearly impossible I decided to remove it this morning. I had no idea how much it had been holding him back...

A Day of Firsts
I think Gideon knew I was depressed over my grandpa passing and Stella refusing to eat. The boy kicked it into gear the last couple of days and made his mama proud.
Yesterday I used my food processor for the first time (I LOVE IT!) and made a sweet potato puree for the boy to try once daddy got home. It went over WAY better than apples (also made by mommy) I am still struggling with the decision of whether or not to post the apple video here. It ends with a volcano of vomit.
Yesterday we also tried out our baby pool again (last time he was kind of a lump) what a difference a couple of months makes!

Today Gideon decided to take it even further and impress me with his newly acquired rolling and teeth growing skills. He's a genius!
Finally! I acted all cool like "every baby is different" and "he will do it when he is ready" while inside I was thinking "OHMYGODISSOMETHINGWRONGWITHHIM?"
This is actually his second roll, I made him do it twice, just in case (you may recall the fluke roll over a couple of months ago, this is different, this is REAL)
Wouldn't you know it, right after rolling over Gideon decided to show off his first tooth! (of course when I turned the camera on he shut his mouth)
I am sooooo glad that I have the ability to capture these moments on camera. I think the husbandit would have been pretty sad to have missed this.

Toy Time
Little man has become much more adept at playing with his toys. He can reach, grab, and then toss away toys as he pleases. He also insists upon sitting at all times. Woe to the person who tries to make this boy lay down! We still aren't rolling but he is such a god sitter I hardly think it matters.
Here he is realizing he can accompany his music player with rattle beats:
This is a very long video mostly showcasing his taggy ball skills:

A Lovie Discovery...
Yesterday Gideon let me know that he will NOT sleep without his buddies Chip and Ellie thankyouverymuch. Furthermore, Seat Monkey and Super Bear are NOT reasonable substitutes. Thank goodness Chip and Ellie were clean and dry by bedtime. (Serves me right I suppose for attempting to wash treasured friends)

Low key 3 day weekend
It was a nice three day weekend for the most part (aside from some family drama). Aunt Bethany came out and babysat on Saturday night (the husbandit and I went to see Super 8, which was like a mix of E.T., District 9, and The Goonies. Therefore it was awesome.) and I am told Gideon had a good time. Sunday, Gideon and I visited with Michelle who had just been put on bedrest, so we could give her the mobile I made for Violet's room. Turned out it was just in the nick of time because Michelle went into labor that night and Violet was born the next morning! We got to hang out with Luke, Emily, Flint, Kerry, Melissa, Haydrienne, and eventually Craig in the waiting room at the hospital before finally getting to sneak a peak at Miss Violet. We are all soooooo happy for the Rebone family!
We spent the rest of the day with Grandma and Grandpa Edwards eating hot dogs, fritos, chili, cole slaw, and beans. It was fantastic and I regret nothing!!!!
Yesterday Gideon decided he was going to say "DaDa" which pretty much made Mac's day, if not year. Here he is practicing his new word:
The boy is also getting pretty darn good at this sitting thing:
